Happy Thanksgiving!!--Reviews, Sayer Obit, publications, and more!
"George Sayer, pupil, friend and biographer of C.S. Lewis whose encouragement led J.R.R. Tolkien to resubmit The Lord of the Rings for publication, died Oct. 20, 2005, in Malvern, England, where he had lived and taught for many years.

The North East Tolkien Society Marketplace opens! The 1st department of the marketplace "Magazines" has opened--Anthony and Jessica (Chairs of Heren Istarion) have donated a portion of their Lord of the Rings memorabilia collection. The magazines in this department are all related to the Lord of the Rings film, some are quite rare and collectible. The forthcoming departments: Book, Toys and Collectibles will be opening soon--we will also have back issues of Parma Nole available as well!

Gathering of the Fellowship Major Programming Update!
In July 2006 The Gathering of the Fellowship will once again commence with its goal to bring fans of J.R.R Tolkien to Toronto, Canada to celebrate his work. Programming Directors and N.E. Tolkien Society Chairs Anthony and Jessica with Pres. Ed Rodrigues have updated its presenter/sessions area of The Gathering site.

We have added returning guests North American Tolkien Society Rep. Mike Foster and Dr. Amy Sturgis, plus author of Understanding Middle-earth: Essays on J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth Michael Martinez
Numerous new sessions have been added, including "I Want To Hold Your Ring" Beatles-JRRT-Sixties Rings Pop Opera and many more! We are still accepting programming ideas and paper presentation abstracts email us with your submissions!

New York LOTR Symphony Special Part 1
Recently, we had the honor of discussing, Tolkien, Howard Shore, Richard Wagner, Music, myths and legends with Carnegie Hall conductor, and Music Director of the Collegiate Chorale--Robert Bass. Mr. Bass will be conducting The Rings: Myth and Music, on Sunday November 13, 2005 at 2pm, which will feature music from Richard Wagner's Rings and Flying Dutchman operas, as well as, music composed by Howard Shore for The Lord of the Rings films.
With special thanks to everyone for putting this together, we are happy to offer a 15% discount to North East Tolkien Society members on tickets for this event.

We will also be bringing to you in coming days, an interview and report by Amy Sturgis. PhD--regarding Glass Hammer's recent release The Inconsolable Secret, and their forthcoming concert at the C.S.
