To the Professor!!, The Gathering of the Fellowship 2006 and new Society name coming!!
Anthony and Jessica (society chairs) are happy to announce and accept publicly the invitation from GOTF 2006 to be Programming Directors for The Gathering of the Fellowship 2006. Within the next week we shall be sending our a call for papers and programming, inviting Tolkien Societies and organizations worldwide to take part in this event. To the Professor!!, will be a collection of pieces aimed at answering the question "Why Tolkien?" What is it about Tolkien's life &/or works that has inspired you in your own life? There would be only 2 copies of this collection printed. The first copy will be presented to Tolkien's heirs at Tolkien 2005. The second & final copy would be presented to Ed Rodrigues at the The Gathering of the Fellowship 2006 2006 for the Gathering’s time capsule. Follow the link on the right to read more on this project
In coming weeks Heren Istarion will no longer be called The New York Tolkien Society, but shall be re-named The NorthEast Tolkien Society, serving the East Coast United States and Canada--as well as other parts of the globe. Stay tuned for some great new features on herenistarion.org and new society endeavours!!

New Ancanar Development Trailer NOW PLAYING!!
The NorthEast Tolkien Society was honored to have the opportunity to premiere the new development trailer for attendees of last month's Ringbearers Day event. For those who were not able to attend, the filmmakers have now premiered it on their website. If ever there was a film that honored Tolkien's themes, influences and the air of the ancient eddas and sagas-- this is it!

As of today our name has changed from the New York Tolkien Society to The NorthEast Tolkien Society, serving the great New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the Northeastern areas of the United States and Canada. Some new features forthcoming are a new "website" skin, a photo gallery to include pictures from all Heren Istarion events and happenings, as well as a live chat area for everyone!!
