JULY 2005 NEWS ARCHIVE July 10th 2005 Parma Nole, To the Professor, Tolkien 2005 Parma Nole Issue#12 has been published and shipped which includes the 1st part of our feature scholary work: "Language and Literature: The Courtship of Valinor and Iceland", by member Melissa Gibson. The issue also has the honor of featuring the work of Artist Jef Murray. Jef Murrary is the designer of the GOTF 2006 logo and Guest of Honor for the event. He will be presenting "The Art of Sub-Creation: Tolkien, Fairy Tales, and the "True Myth" of Christianity". Issue#13 will continue Ms. Gibson's work and feature "Frodo Quartermain" by Tolkien Scholar Mark Hooker. Unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances Anthony and Jessica will not be presenting their talks at Tolkien 2005--therefore the recent deadline for "To the Professor" has been extended to January 3rd 2006. We have gotten an incredible amount of submissions and wish to incorporate them all. A copy will still be presented to Tolkien's heirs. We would like to thank Nancy Martsch Editor of Beyond Bree and H.I .Member Deborah Singer for nominating Anthony and Jessica for the annual Beyond Bree Award. The "Beyond Bree" Award is given "In recognition of outstanding contribution to the study of JRR Tolkien, from the Readers of 'Beyond Bree'"To be listed next to Wayne Hammond and Christina Scull for this honor is truly breathtaking.
