The Author, The Director and The Work:The astrological
biography and spiritual geography of Middle Earth.
The focus of this timely talk will be the charts of J.R.R Tolkien,
his interpreter, Peter Jackson, and the astrological imagery
in Tolkien's works (Lord of the Rings, Book of Lost Tales
and The Silmarillion). The themes of war and loss, individual
courage and large social forces, creative inspiration and its
inhibitions resonate with our times. Join us for a lively afternoon
-- and prepare for the final installment of Peter Jackson's
work with a fresh perspective.
Phyllis

Linden Hill School in Wilton, Ct, a consulting astrologer
and past board president of Fairfield

Would you be interested in learning to speak Quenya? I'm exploring
the possibility of forming a language group early in 2004, if
interest is sufficient. It might be a fun, interesting and rewarding
social activity. There is actually a free on-line course that
could be used as our textbook. I do not speak Quenya myself,
but as a speech pathologist, I might be able to provide some
direction in terms of the pronunciation of the sounds -- the
phonetic information contained in the on-line course is "understandable"
to me, and I have worked with foreign accents. At this time,
I envision a commitment to meet in Manhattan for two hours each
week. As a guesstimate, we might seek to cover a chapter every
two weeks. It's all up for discussion. Take a look at the following
links, and if it piques your interest, e-mail me at :
