Always dedicated to the proliferation and study of Tolkien's works we would like to share with you a wonderful book by author Verlyn Flieger.Winner of the 1998 Mythopoeic Award for Inklings Studies

On another note, this may have been discussed to already elsewhere but I found it quite interesting NOT to see Narya, the ring of Fire upon Gandalf the Grey's finger in the film The Fellowship of the the Ring. Upon opening a pack of Decipher's Realms of the Elflords I got a really cool card Narya
As we all know Cirdan the Shipwright gives this ring to him when he arrives at the Grey Havens, ca. 1000 TA. Does this mean we will see him bearing it in the November release of the extended FOTR? Since I believe these card images are from FOTR
Tell us what you think. HERENISTARION@YAHOO.COM

Hullo all! This is Stephanie a.k.a of Heren Istarion, I received a most interesting tidbit from a fellow hobbit today. He located an article that discussed the most "corner filling" food a hobbit could eat. The strangest thing is that the hobbit who is responsible for bring to life these scrumptious recipes has the exact same name as the one that was given to me by my hobbit elders. This article entitled Middle Earth Feast: Tolkien fan concocts a meal fit for a Hobbit is a great read and it also has caused my tummy to start rumbling for second breakfast. Well I?m off to fill-up the corners! Have fun reading this great article and maybe you can try some of the recipes in your own hobbit hole.

ATTENTION!
As you know we are holding a picnic for Bilbo and Frodo's birthday on Sunday September 22nd. If it so happens that on the morning of the picnic you wake up in your comfy hobbit hole and it is raining then turn back over and go to sleep in you comfy hobbit bed. Being that the picnic is an outdoor event we would not want all of our lovely mathoms to become wet. We will post an update if the picnic cannot not occur and let all faithful hobbit know our plans for a rain date.
Another little tidbit of information for all video game lovers. Universal Interactive's The Lord of the Rings release date has been moved up. It is going to be released on 24th of September (YAY!!)for XBox and GameBoy Advance. It will be realeased for PS2 and all other game consoles, including the PC version, on the 22nd of October. .

September 23rd 2002

Our Birthday Celebration went off smashingly, we all gathered under our party tree in honor of our beloved hobbits Bilbo and Frodo. After noshing on some sandwiches, mushrooms, lembas, and brownies we all gathered round for some Middle Earth Trivia! Afterwards in true hobbit fashion EVERYONE went home with a birthday gift, and some went home with more than one! Look for pictures and a more detailed report in the next day or two.

There also has been some great news and discussions coming from our friends over at RingQuest. Our friend Patti--SheElf over at Ringquest writes:"If you need a laugh today, check out my post "No Comment" about a 'could-have-been' commentary on LOTR by Christopher Lee and Ian McKellan." Please note these are COULD HAVE BEEN commentaries, this means that they are fictitious and LOTS O'FUN!!!!
Travel and say hello to them and join their discussions!
